Police Constable Salary 2026
Constables in CAPF (BSF, CRPF, CISF, SSB, ITBP) and most state police forces are placed in Level 3 of the 7th CPC pay matrix. Under the 8th CPC, basic pay is projected to rise from ₹21,700 to about ₹62,000 at 2.86x, with special allowances on top.

Duties
- Maintain law and order, border/coastal security or internal security
- Perform sentry, patrolling, escort and anti-insurgency duties
- Support investigation, VIP protection and disaster response

- One additional increment for CAPF personnel on completion of training
